With the popularization of city transportation smart card and the improvement of information collection and storage mechanism in the rail transit ticketing system, the card-swiping data has been more widely and deeply applied to urban rail transit operaton research. At present, the construction and operation of rail transit in Kunming is still in its primary stage. The facilities in the subway station, the allocation of human resources and the public services around the station can be adjusted and optimized according to the type of station. In the past, the traditional classification results of subway stations were mainly based on expert experience and statistical survey, but this method is susceptible to subjective factors.Since the card-swiping data can objectively reflect the movement of crowd and the utilization of urban infrastructure, this paper classifies the subway station based on the card-swiping data, and provides reference suggestions for the traffc operation department and planning department of Kunming. This paper uses the database to extract passenger flow information from about 7.7 million subway card-swiping data in Kunming within 20 working days, and uses the principal component analysis method to obtain the main law of Kunming subway passenger flow and summarize the difference characteristics of passenger flow distribution in different periods. This paper uses K-Means clustering method to classify Kunming subway stations into seven types and the selection of clustering index based on the conclusion of principal component analysis.According to the passenger flow distribution curve of the stations in each period, the types of stations are summarized as residential-oriented type,employment-oriented type, employment and residence staggered type, staggered mainly residential-oriented type, staggered mainly employment-oriented type, traffic hub type and scenic area type.At the same time, this paper classifies the subway stations according to the boarding and alighting scale, and discusses the distribution of the stations along the subway based on the oriented types. In addition,in order to analyze the contact of different types of stations, this paper establishes the subway OD(Origin-Destination)passenger flow matrix, focusing on the analysis of the passenger flow sources of employment-oriented stations and staggered mainly employment-oriented stations within the second ring road of Kunming, and discovers that there is a one-way crowded passenger flow within the second ring road and north of Kunming in the morning and evening. Finally, this paper puts forward suggestions through the oriented characteristics, boarding and alighting scale, geographical distribution and links between different types of stations,in order to achieve rational allocation of resources, save energy and reduce consumption, alleviate urban traffic congestion, improve people's travel status, and contribute to the sustainable and healthy operation and development of Kunming rail transit.
