As a communicator of human knowledge and civilization, teachers have a role to play in the entire education process. The uniqueness of the profession of teachers is that teachers not only experience the well-being of teaching in the teaching process, but also pass their well-being to students.Whether a teacher is happy at work not only affects his or her teaching level, but also affects the happiness of the child, the happiness of the family. Therefore,it is of great significance to enhance the occupational well-being of teachers. This study conducted two studies, one is to explore the structure of teacher’s occupational well-being of primary and secondary school, and the other is to explore the factors that affecting teacher’s occupational well-being.On the basis of combing the previous literature and empirical investigations, the study 1 constructed the structure of teacher’s occupational well-being of primary and secondary school, then developed the Teacher’s Occupational Well-being Questionnaire for Primary and Secondary School, which was distributed to 112 primary and secondary school teachers in Zhejiang Province.Through Item Analysis,Exploratory Factor Analysis,Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Reliability Analysis, the study 1 puts forward the structure of occupational well-being of primary and secondary school teachers being composed of affective well-being,professional well-being,cognitive well-being,psychosomatic well-being and social well-being.The conclusion is almost consistent with previous studies. The study 2 used the self-developed Teacher’s Occupational Well-being Questionnaire for Primary and Secondary School,Scale for Teacher Autonomy andTeaching Intrinsic Autonomy Questionnaire for Primary and Middle School Teachers to test 233 primary and middle school teachers. The Regression Analysis found that both extrinsic autonomy of teaching and intrinsic autonomy of teaching have impacts on teacher’s occupational well-being.Among them, the impact of intrinsic autonomy of teaching has reached 0.779,which is the most important factor affecting the occupational well-being of primary and secondary school teachers.Further Variance Analysis of extrinsic autonomy of teaching and intrinsic autonomy of teaching,it is found that teacher’s occupational well-being with high level of extrinsic autonomy of teaching is significantly higher than teachers with low level of extrinsic autonomy of teaching and teacher’s occupational well-being with high level of intrinsic autonomy of teaching is significantly higher than teachers with low level of intrinsic autonomy of teaching. Moreover, the influence of extrinsic autonomy of teaching and intrinsic autonomy of teaching on teacher’s professional well-being has an interactive trend. The slope of the predicted marginal average of teacher’s occupational well-being with high level of intrinsic autonomy of teaching is higher than that of teachers with low level of intrinsic autonomy of teaching. That is to say, compared with low level of extrinsic autonomy of teaching, under the condition of high level of extrinsic autonomy of teaching, the influence of intrinsic autonomy of teaching on teacher’s occupational well-being is greater. This study mainly draws the following conclusions:1.The structure of teacher’s occupational well-being is composed of affective well-being,professional well-being,cognitive well-being,psychosomatic well-being and social well-being.The self-developed “The Questionnaire about Structure of Teacher’s Occupational Well-being of Primary and Secondary School” is reliable.2.The professional well-being of primary and secondary school teachers differs in demographic variables such as age, education background, gender, and teaching age.3.Compared with demographic variables, extrinsic autonomy of teaching and intrinsic autonomy of teaching are more important factors affecting teacher’s occupational well-being.4.Teacher’s occupational well-being with high level of intrinsic autonomy of teaching is significantly higher than teachers with low level of intrinsic autonomy of teaching.5.The influence of extrinsic autonomy of teaching and intrinsic autonomy of teaching on teacher’s occupational well-being has an interactive trend. That is to say, compared with low level of extrinsic autonomy of teaching, under the condition of high level of extrinsic autonomy of teaching, the influence of intrinsic autonomy of teaching on teacher’s occupational well-being is greater. This study finds that as the teacher’s teaching motivation, intrinsic autonomy of teaching is the most important factor affecting teacher’s occupational well-being and as the external empowerment of teachers, extrinsic autonomy of teaching also has a great influence on teacher’s occupational well-being.Therefore,if we want to enhance teacher’s occupational well-being,teachers themselves should change their intrinsic motivation, improve intrinsic autonomy of teaching, and maintain a positive and enterprising attitude towards teaching. In addition, schools, education departments and the whole society should create an excellent environment for teachers and guarantee teacher’s extrinsic autonomy of teaching.
