Under the background of "Internet+",education informatization plays an irreplaceable role in breaking through the time and space constraints of teaching,integrating high-quality educational resources and promoting balanced development of education among different regions.Teaching video is an important carrier for of teaching information transmission and the collocation and design of various elements in teaching videos,including pictures,texts,sounds and images,have significant impacts on the quality of E-teaching.Meanwhile,as an important component of instructional video,the scientific design and application of subtitles play an important role in improving the overall quality of instructional video and promoting learners'learning.Based on the full analysis of teaching video cases in 232 video courses and the related research,this paper divides the main subtitles in teaching videos into narrative subtitles and outline subtitles.Then,guided by the theories of multimedia picture linguistics and cognitive psychology,by combining eye-tracking experiment with cognitive-behavior experiment,this paper explores the effects of the presentation of these two subtitles and their different presentation forms on learners' learning performance,visual behavior,cognitive load and learning satisfaction.The main conclusions have been drawn as follows.1.It is suggested to add explanatory subtitles in the production of teaching videos.The addition of explanatory subtitles can significantly improve the quantity and quality of learning of learners,without additional cognitive load and without redundancy effect.2.It is helpful for learners to add important and difficult tips to the narrative subtitles,the presentation modes of full subtitles combined with key points obtains the highest total fixation duration and total fixation count.It also helps learners to achieve best learning effect and satisfaction.Although only showing the key points in subtitles does not appear in teaching videos,this kind of presentation has a positive effect both in reducing the cost of subtitle production and improving the learning effect.It is suggested that this form be considered in video production.3.The presented position of narrative subtitles significantly affects learners' retention of test scores.There is no significant effect on learners' transfer test scores and cognitive load.The narrative subtitles displaying near the objects helps learners to search for information,and achieves the best learning effect.Subtitle presentation on the right side achieves the lowest learning satisfaction and learning effect,and should avoid presenting narrative subtitles on the right side of the video as far as possible.4.Presenting outline subtitles in teaching videos can significantly improve learners'learning quantity and learning quality,learners can achieve higher learning satisfaction and lower cognitive load,and the effect of "parallel" outline subtitles is better than that of"sequential" outline subtitles.According to the experimental research conclusion,this paper extracts three rules of caption design in teaching videos,in order to provide some reference basis and value for teachers to make teaching videos and add subtitles.
