In recent years,the number of graduate students in China has steadily increased.According to the latest data from the Ministry of Education,in 2017,the number of graduates in China reached 520,000.Promoting the employment and entrepreneurship of college graduates is both a livelihood and a national plan.The high quality and full employment of graduate students is related to the healthy development of higher education.However,high-quality employment is not only related to colleges,but also the students' own human capital and family capital play an important role in employment.This paper explores the impact of family capital and human capital on the quality of postgraduate employment,and hopes to provide literature references for improving the quality of postgraduate employment.This paper uses the literature and survey methods,using social capital theory and screening hypothesis theory,and puts forward the assumption that family capital and human capital have an impact on the quality of graduate employment.Among them,the family capital of master students includes family economic capital,family social capital and family cultural capital;human capital is measured by two dimensions: academic human capital and skilled human capital;employment quality is measured by four aspects: initial salary,employment location,employment unit type and employment satisfaction.Through questionnaires,we obtained information on family capital,human capital and employment quality of a master's degree student at a 985 university and a general undergraduate university in Guangdong Province.Factor analysis was used to extract correlation factors from the measured indicators,and the hypothesis was tested by binary logistic and multivariate logistic regression models.The results of empirical research show that: 1)With the increase of family capital,the probability of graduate students getting high salary increases,the possibility of employment in cities will increase,the probability of entering the system is greater,and the employment satisfaction is higher.2)The probability of obtaining a high salary for a graduate student with rich human capital will increase,and the probability of entering a private enterprise is greater.And the influence of human capital on the initial salary of graduate students is greater than that of family capital.3)The school level has a significant positive impact on the initial salary.The higher the school level,the greater the probability that the graduate students will get a high salary.But the school level has no significant impact on job satisfaction.4)The initial salary of the graduate students of science and engineering is significantly better than the master's degree in humanities.5)Compared with female postgraduates,the male postgraduate's initial salary and employment satisfaction are more dominant.To this end,this paper puts forward the following suggestions.1)For students with insufficient family capital,efforts should be made to improve academic performance,actively participate in social practice,and accumulate the stock of human capital in order to improve the quality of employment.2)Parents should pass on the scientific concept of employment,choose professions and occupations according to their children's advantages and interests,and do not blindly follow.3)The school pays attention to improving students' human capital,strengthening employment guidance and improving students' comprehensive quality.4)The society should establish a sound employment platform,realize the transparency of employment information,and create a fair employment environment.
