The Role Of Government Educational Institution In Achieving Sustainable Development In Sierra Leone

Although,most government across the world primarily focus on policies,the need for education is becoming more important in most less developed nations in the world.Currently,the government of Sierra Leone is working on various project to enhance and promote effective and efficient educational institutions that innovate and respond positively to meaningful performance based on allocation of resources and accountability.The main aim of this study is to investigate the role played by Government institution in charge of education in achieving sustainable development.The major point made in this study is that the successful adoption on sustainability depend crucially on government institution in charge of education.The indicators used to assess this study includes: the various perceptions of workers about sustainable development,to determine the various jobs offered,to determine the relevance of the various jobs offered and to identify the role played by the Ministry of Education in promoting sustainable development.Some of the significance of the study include: Results of this study are useful to the government,non-governmental organization,local authorities,various stakeholders and development partners related to education;since they will be able to use it theoretically to identify the various contributions of the Ministry of Education and be able to plan well in achieving sustainable development in Sierra Leone.Some of the conclusions on the findings includes the study used SPSS to test for stationarity among variables.The relevance of the various jobs did not have a statistical significant correlation with other factors.While role played by the institution was only statistically significant negatively correlated with,various jobs offered.In addition,perception of workers and various jobs offered had a significant positive correlation with each other.The results shows that the dependent variables account for about 22.8 percent of the variance.In order to sustain economic growth government institution should facilitate shared societal vision for sustainability and provide economic prosperity with high priority.
