The Research Of The Construction And Application Of Special Educational Websiteof General Cross-cultural Knowledge

In the rapid increase of today globalization,the international exchanges and cooperation are becoming closer.Thus cross-cultural conflicts also follow.To reduce or avoid unnecessary misunderstandings caused by cultural differences,the research of cross-cultural communication has been widely carried out.General cross-cultural knowledge is considered as an important and influential factor in intercultural communication that is also inevitably to be put on daily agenda.General cross-cultural knowledge refers to the understanding of the general rules of general knowledge in different countries or nationalities.This article studies the structure and application of special educational website of general cross-cultural knowledge which provides strong support for the spread of general cross-cultural knowledge.Three categories of animal,plant,color metaphors in general cross-cultural knowledge have been selected as the research contents for constructing the thematic website of general cross-cultural knowledge.The information and specific understanding are gotten and collected from the combination of literature review,interview and questionnaire survey.The research object is the oversea students of the Institute of International Students in Tianjin University.The results collected are as the followings: 46 countries and 66 kinds of animal were collected and 538 pieces of information of animal cross-cultural knowledge were given in total.164 pieces of information of plant cross-cultural knowledge were provided from 15 countries with 66 kinds of plants,and 141 pieces of information of color cross-cultural knowledge were collected from 17 countries with the total of 12 kinds of color.On the foundation of collected resources,the general cross-cultural knowledge resource database is designed and constructed,and its feasibility is confirmed by the synchronous construction of the special website.HTML+PHP+MYSQL is used to carry out the educational website of general cross-cultural knowledge.The feature of the website is to provide two learning patterns for learners: one pattern is for the country.It is for learning the general cross-cultural knowledge of animals,plants and colors of one country.The other one is for learning some specific general knowledge which learners can learn the general knowledge of a certain animal,plant or color in all countries.In addition,the learners can also quickly locate the learning content through the search tools provided.The learners are also able to choose a learning pattern or learning content for their own autonomous learning.There is also a scoring function for learning content,and with this scoring function,the learners can give score for each item which leads to the improvement of the accuracy of the learning content.
