"Education is the foundation;education plans,teacher centered." Teacher quality is related to the quality of schools,the quality of education.Strictly controlling the entry of new teachers pass,in-service teacher incentive process is an important mean to ensure the quality of teachers.The evaluations related to the survival and development of teachers,improving teacher evaluation system will help retain good teachers and reject unqualified teachers.Although China has been promoting the development of teacher evaluation system,but has not yet been established.In the United States's a comprehensive assessment,teacher education reform in Louisiana made to the consolidated results B which ranks third nationwide and teacher evaluation scores A champion.Achieving such a high score,is related to the recent state years of continuous efforts in teacher evaluation.Therefore,it's helpful to study the development of the state teacher evaluation system to build our evaluation system for teachers better.This paper uses the literature method and the comparative method to study the teacher evaluation system of Louisiana,and clarifies the formation and development course of the teacher evaluation system in the state.It introduces the main contents and tools of the COMPASS teacher evaluation system in Louisiana.This paper discusses the role of COMPASS teacher evaluation system in teachers' professional teaching ability,students' academic achievement and the quality of school education.In addition,it discusses the series of problems that the system faces and then analyzes them.Finally,aiming at the existence of teachers' evaluation system in China,we can see some of the problems,so then we are able to learn from the lessons from the Louisiana teacher evaluation system's successful experiences and practices,put forward some improvements and suggestions.
