Orienteering cross-country project was introduced into China inland in 1983,which has been developing for more than 30 years.During this period, more and more Orienteering events are held in China, and they are becoming more and more standardized. Our country's student Orienteering Championship represents a higher level of Orienteering in the overall level of competition, organization and management, competition system and type of competition. The main participants of the competition come from primary and secondary schools, vocational and technical colleges, general secondary schools and key institutions of higher learning in all regions of the country. The competition is divided into several groups and competes with the same level institutions. In recent years, the Chinese Orienteering Association will select the Chinese college students' Orienteering team members according to their achievements and performances during the competition of the Chinese students' Orienteering championships. Its overall level is close to that of our country. To the highest level. The elite women's team in Colleges and universities has a limited number of participants every year. They are all directional teams from key universities. They have participated in many competitions, some even members of the national directional team. This paper takes the influencing factors and improving strategies of the performance of female Orienteering individual competitions of university students in China as the research object.By using the methods of literature, investigation, mathematical statistics and comparison, the distribution of the top eight female Orienteering elite athletes in different events and different terrain in the top eight areas of the performance of individual competitions of University elite groups in China's student Orienteering Championships is studied.Through comparative analysis, various factors affecting competition results are found out, various problems existing in competition and training of athletes are analyzed, and targeted solutions are found, which can help Orienteering Athletes and coaches avoid mistakes in performance when participating in various competitions and training at all levels in the future, provide references for the organization of various orienteering competitions in China in the future, and promote the development of Orienteering in an all-round way.The exhibition provides a basis for our Orienteering Athletes to achieve better results in the world. The main conclusions of the study are as follows:1.There are differences in the development of orienteering between the north and the south in our country. The overall development of the south is better than that of the north.Hunan Province,Tianjin City and Beijing City are the regions with the best places in the women's individual competitions in the elite group of colleges and universities in the orienteering championship of our country, showing certain regional characteristics and advantages, obvious regional differences, unbalanced and insufficient development,etc.2.In the individual competition of the National Student Orienteering Championship, the 100 m race is usually held in the square or playground with a running distance of about 1500 meters.Currently, obstacles are often set in the competition.Short distance races are held in parks or limited small-scale fields, with athletes running at a distance of about 6,000 meters.Middle-distance and long-distance competitions are mostly held in the wild, running for about an hour and a half.Athletes need better physical ability to support the competition.3.orienteering has its special project characteristics and requires perfect coordination of special orienteering skills and physical fitness.the orienteering skills of the elite women's individual competition in China's student orienteering championships include the ability to read maps, use maps and compass in situ, the ability to locate at fixed points, the ability to judge distance and route selection, and the ability to find checkpoints.Orienteering physical fitness is mainly manifested in the athletes should have good physical function and good endurance quality.4.After analysis, the factors that affect the results of the women's individual competition in the elite group of colleges and universities in China's orienteering championships are basically divided into self-exertion,opponent's performance and environmental factors.Among them, female athletes have poor coping ability when facing various situations in the competition, and the use of specific Orienteering skills with physical fitness and tactics is not enough.Psychological factors have a certain impact on the performance in the competition.5.In the orienteering competition, athletes compete in outdoor venues and will inevitably come into contact with various environments.Due to special physiological conditions, women athletes will affect the competition mood in the event of bad weather and unexpected conditions in the venues. Therefore, for elite women athletes in colleges and universities, the influence of climate on competition results is quite important.6.Through the research on many influencing factors of women's individual competition results in elite groups of colleges and universities in China,it is shown that there is a certain gap between China and foreign countries in many means of improving results, which leads to the directional level not reaching the first-class level in the world.Through competitions and other means to promote orienteering events, strengthen athletes' psychological training,so that they can cope well with the conditions in the competition.coaches actively seek more ways and means to improve the training effect. These positive suggestions will play a positive role in promoting the overall strength of Orienteering in China.
