In recent years,programming education has received more and more attention.In high school,students mainly learn programming through the course of Algorithm and Programming.At present,there are some problems that need to be solved.Teachers often pay attention to the explanation of basic knowledge in teaching,neglect to let students more programming practice,ignoring to train students to solve problems ability.Students are generally forget it after learning and don't know how to apply it.Both teachers and students are eager to change this situation.The project based learning focuses on the learning while doing and provides new ideas for solving this problem.This study takes changing teachers' teaching methods and improving teaching effects as the starting point,on the basis of reviewing the current research status at home and abroad,this paper studies the application of project based learning in the course of "Algorithm and Programming" with the guidance of constructivism theory,pragmatic education theory and cognitive discovery learning theory.Firstly,the teaching status of "algorithm and program design" course and the learning situation of students are investigated.In view of the existing problems,specific ideas for the application of project based learning are given.Secondly,combining the principles of PBL with the requirements of information technology curriculum standards,the implementation framework of PBL in algorithm and program design is designed.The implementation framework divides the teaching process into four stages and seven processes.Then,in order to verify the effectiveness of the operational framework of the project-based learning proposed in this study in algorithm and program design,after analyzing the teaching content,curriculum standards and students' learning characteristics,five teaching projects were designed for the experimental research,two classes with the same initial ability were selected as the experimental objects.for three months(from September 2018 to December 2018).Finally,at the end of the experiment,from the students grasp of basic knowledge of programming,the quality of the program works,the project learning situation three aspects are analyzed,the results show that the students in the experimental class have higher scores in the written test of program design,project works and the completion of computer operation questions in the program design than those in the comparative class.It is concluded that the teaching effect of PBL in algorithm and program design is better than that of traditional teaching.The application of PBL in algorithm and program design not only can improve students' learning of basic knowledge of program design,but also can improve students' programming ability.
