Scientific thinking refers to a way of thinking that can grasp the nature and laws of objective things based on factual basis and logical reasoning. The "General Senior High School Biology Curriculum Standards(2017 Edition)" condenses and defines the core literacy of four biology departments, and scientific thinking is one of them. The junior high school stage is a crucial period for students' thinking from low-level to high-level development. How to grasp this period in the teaching of biology, and cultivate students' biological science thinking has become an important research issue. In 2008,the ADI teaching model proposed by American scholar Sampson provided an excellent way to train scientific thinking. In recent years, domestic and foreign scholars have carried out some research on the theoretical and practical aspects of the model, but there are few studies on the scientific thinking of the model in cultivating junior high school students. Therefore, based on the previous studies, this paper combines the ADI teaching model with the training of junior high school students' scientific thinking, and takes junior high school students as the investigation object to further study the effect of the model in cultivating students' scientific thinking ability. This research mainly includes two parts, the theoretical part and the practical part.In the theoretical part,we first combed the teaching content suitable for ADI in the seventh grade biology, and then wrote the corresponding ADI teaching design. In this paper, the teaching design of “environmental conditions for seed germination” was detailed. In this paper, two of the teaching design contents "environmental conditions of seed germination" and "carbon dioxide are shown in detail".Essential materials for photosynthesis." In the practice part,we first use the existing literature to compile a test paper for the junior high school students' biological science thinking, which is used for the evaluation of practical research.Then,18 students were selected in the secondary school of Henan Normal University in Xinxiang City for teaching experiments. The experimental group used ADI model teaching and the control group used general scientific inquiry mode teaching. The experimental group used ADI model teaching and the control group used general scientific inquiry mode teaching. Finally, through questionnaire survey, the changes in students' scientific thinking ability before and after the teaching experiment were tested. The study found that after the teaching experiment, there was a significant difference in the scientific thinking ability between the experimental group and the control group, which proved that the ADI teaching model can effectively cultivate students' scientific thinking. In addition, through classroom observations,ADI teaching can improve students' interest in learning and participation. This study draws the following conclusions: It is feasible to conduct ADI teaching in junior high school biology. With the aid of the ADI model, students can conduct effective thinking training to cultivate students' scientific thinking.
