Social comparison is a widespread social phenomenon.In the information society era,online media has invisibly expanded the scope of people's social comparison,influenced the social comparison of ordinary people,and also influenced students' social comparison.Based on the existing researches in society,this paper conducts the relationship between junior high school students' social tendency and academic achievement and intervention research through questionnaire survey methods and group counseling methods.The author mainly studies the relationship between junior high school students' social tendency and academic achievement from the perspective of social comparative theory.In the process of intervention research,it is found that the cognitive behavior theory of psychology may also affect the research object of this paper.Therefore,there are some shortcomings in the theoretical research,and there are still some areas for improvement in the questionnaire survey and group counseling activities.The results of this paper are as follows:(1)Among the junior high school students with different levels of social comparison orientation,there are three high,medium and low academic level individuals;(2)There is a significant difference in the average of academic performance among junior high school students with different levels of social comparison orientation;(3)Generally speaking,the junior high school students tend to have a U-shaped relationship with their academic performance;the junior high school students who tend to be too high or too low in the society have poor overall academic performance;the junior high school students who are moderately inclined to the society,the overall good academic performance.(4)Generally speaking,junior high school students' academic social comparison orientation to have a significant effect on academic performance.(5)Positive comparison of growth activities can affect the social comparative tendency of junior high school students to a certain extent.
