As a means of education evaluation and talents selection in China,college entrance examination has multiple value subjects.To study the value of college entrance examination means significantly to the direction and the result of the college entrance examination reform.Under the background of the new college entrance examination reform and based on the basic ideas of life philosophy,this thesis uses literature research and historical comparison method to do academic research on the value of college entrance examination,then puts forward that the ontological value of college entrance examination is life value.On this basis,this thesis discusses how the old college entrance examination veiled its ontological value and how the ontological value revives in the new reform of college entrance examination,and then this thesis puts forward the value propositions that the future college entrance examination reform should attach more importance to life value.The basic content and views of this thesis are as follows.First,life philosophy and its life attributes in the context of education.Life philosophy regards life as the core,emphasizing intuition,experience and generation,which takes revealing the nature and the significance of human life as the starting point of all its philosophical research.From the perspective of life philosophy,life attributes can be summarized as autonomy,continuity,individuality and potentiality,which demands the development of modern education concept,including subjectivity education,lifelong education,individualized education,creative education,and which also motivates the reform of college entrance examination as an important evaluation way.Second,the value and the ontological value of college entrance examination.The college entrance examination value relation is an objective relation between the value subject and value object.The college entrance examination value consciousness is the reflection that the value subjects have when they think over the college entrance examination value relation consciously.It is easy for people to view the subjective value consciousness as the objective value relation when they evaluate college entrance examination,which makes the value of college entrance examination face the danger of the confusion of its value relation and its value consciousness,and then lead to the subversion of the ontological value and the derivative value of college entrance examination.In the category of value relations of college entrance examination,the ontological value is the relation between the college entrance examination attributes and the essential need that the subjects have,the derivative value is the relation between the college entrance examination attributes and the non-essential need that the subjects have.This thesis argues that the ontological value of college entrance examination is life value and the derivative value is instrumental value.Third,the veiling of the ontological value by the traditional college entrance examination.On the one hand,the traditional college entrance examination played an important role in the process of evaluating and selecting talents.On the other hand,it veiled its life value,which is mainly manifested in the following aspects.Selecting material orientation weakened the subjectivity of life.Insufficient cohesion of high school and college destroyed the continuity of life.The unified and solidified selection method oppressed the individuality of life.The concept of mainly testing knowledge suppressed the potentiality of life.Fourth,the reviving of the ontological value of the new college entrance examination.The new college entrance examination pays more attention to life value,embodying the return of the ontological value,which has been showed in the specific reform.This is mainly manifested in the following aspects."Independent Selection of Subjects and Examinations" shows students' individual consciousness of life."Career Planning Education" pays attention to the duration of students' life."Assorted exams" concerns about the individually development of students,and "Comprehensive Quality Evaluation" respects the diverse generation of students' lives.With the deepening of the new college entrance examination reform,life value,as the ontological value of college entrance examination,will be increasingly highlighted,which not only provides a good opportunity for studying the value of college entrance examination,but also puts forward higher requirements for further research of this thesis.
