Many researchers agree that teacher's quality plays an important role to maintain high educational standard and have a great effect on students'achievement.However,the main purpose of this research was not only to investigate how teacher's quality work to influence students' outcomes but also how teacher's quality and self-efficacy have closed relationship to improve students' achievement.This thesis is a qualitative study that conducted at Pannasastra University of Cambodia's Institution of Foreign Language(PUC-IFL)at Tuol Kork Campus in Phnom Penh city,Cambodia.This research study was used three tools:interview,classroom observation,and collecting relevant materials.There were 4 teachers and 10 students participated in the interview.The researcher also used the observation form to evaluate teachers' performance Besides,the results of students in the previous terms of each teacher were collected to see how their teaching affected students' outcomes.There are four main findings in this study.The first is the definition of teacher's quality and self-efficacy received from teachers and students using their understanding and experiences in their own words.They mentioned that these two concepts join closely to support each other;while teacher's quality is about the results students received from their teachers,teacher's self-efficacy is the tool to help teachers convey knowledge to students Second is the relationship between teacher's quality and self-efficacy that help teachers to improve their teaching strategies and professional attitude.Third,the factors that influence a teacher's quality and self-efficacy.There are four characteristics of those factors:(1)Entrance exam,(2)Challenging teaching task and responsibility,(3)Social and collegial relationship,and(4)Teacher-student interaction.The last one is the students' perception of their teachers' performance.The results illustrated that they would like to study with teachers who have high self-efficacy.This research finding of teacher's quality and self-efficacy can be useful for all teachers,researchers,and other relevant body.
