Objective: This study aims to explore the mechanism of non-dominant handedness action video game training on visual spatial attention, its effect on dyslexia and the relationship between visual spatial attention and developmental dyslexia. Methods: 8 children with developmental dyslexia were screened out from1225 children by questionnaire. The subjects were given 12 hours of non-dominant handedness action video game intervention for 9 days. Before and after the intervention, the behavioral responses and EEG data of valid cue task, invalid cue task and Chinese character recognition task were recorded by using EGI-64 lead Electroencephalogram Device. Results: in Experiment 1,the main effect of P1 in brain area showed significant difference and there was significant difference between the tests before and after the experiment and the cue;the main effect of N1 in brain area showed significant difference and the interaction effect between the tests before and after the experiment and cue condition was on the significant edge;the interaction effect among the tests before and after the experiment, brain area and cue condition showed significant difference;in Experiment 2,the main effect of P1 in brain area showed significant difference and the interaction effect between the tests before and after the experiment and the brain area showed no significant difference, the main effect of N170 in brain area showed significant difference, the interaction effect between the tests before and after the experiment and the brain area showed no significant difference. There was no difference in response time between Experiment 1 and Experiment 2.The reason for the inconspicuous results was that there were too few subjects and the intervention training time was relatively short, but the data showed a positive trend. The response time was shorter, the ability of analysis and judgment of stimulus location was improved, and the ability of character recognition was improved.Conclusion:(1)Non-dominant handedness action video game training can significantly improve the visual spatial attention processing ability of children with developmental dyslexia. The subjects had unilateral visual neglect, and the right parietal lobe injury was more likely to cause unilateral visual neglect. After training, unilateral visual neglect improved. The right brain area have more advantages in processing the same task, and the regulation ability of visual attention range and attention concentration has been improved. It regulates the inhibition of non-attention and supported the right parietal lobe to control visual spatial attention.(2)Non-dominant handedness action video game training has a trend to improve developmental dyslexia. The activation degree of the left brain area was less than that of the right brain area in the pre-test of children with developmental dyslexia. After the intervention training of non-dominant handedness action video games, the activation degree of the left brain area was greater than that of the right brain area in the post-test.There is an advantage of the left brain area in word processing.(3)The conduction function of“dorsal stream”related to visual spatial attention and dyslexia is improved, and the activation of right parietal lobe and fusiform gyrus,V1 and MT are enhanced. With the activation of the common neural mechanism of visual spatial attention processing ability and developmental dyslexia, the improvement of visual spatial attention processing ability is positively related to the improvement of Chinese character recognition ability.
