With the in-depth cooperation between China and Thailand in many fields such as economy and culture,Chinese has become one of the most important foreign languages in Thailand.Thailand has incorporated Chinese teaching into the national education system,which is divided into five parts: central,southern,eastern,northern and southeastern.There are two major regions,including Chiang Rai,Phayao,Phrae,Nan and other places in the north.The author found in Thai local teaching practice that compared with learners who have more opportunities to communicate in Chinese because they are located in areas prosperous around Bangkok or in the southern coastal tourism,the middle school students in the north have more pronounced problems with their voice appearance,and their pronunciation is not accurate enough.Confusion about Yangping and Shangsheng,and whether or not the tone can be accurately grasped determines to a certain extent the level of communicative ability of the learner using Chinese.Therefore,this article conducts in-depth research and focuses on the acquisition of Chinese tones for students trained by the Chinese major in the local middle school in northern Thailand.This article selects the research method of experimental phonetics,based on the theory of second language acquisition.From the aspects of output and perception,it is targeted at students in northern Thailand who are at the primary,intermediate and advanced levels of Chinese majors.Single-tone and dynamic double-tone,conduct tone listening and perceptual experiments and acoustic pronunciation experiments,and count the number of errors in the perceptual experiment samples,analyze the perception accuracy,type of errors,and error rates of northern Thai students.The sample obtained the tone pattern map of the subjects,and then compared it with the tone pattern map of the Chinese to summarize the characteristics of tone and value of the students in northern Thailand.Through experiments,we know that the order of Chinese single-character tuning for North Thai middle school students is: de-voicing,Yin Ping,Yang Ping,Shang Sheng,and the two-character tuning order is: "Qing + X" combination,"Yin Ping + X" combination,"Yangping + X" type combination "Shangsheng + X" type combination.According to the experimental results,this paper analyzes the reasons for the errors inthe tone acquisition of middle school students in northern Thailand from the aspects of negative mother tongue transfer,other second language interference,external environmental influences,and the effects of individual factors of learners.Teaching suggestions on Han-Thai tone contrast,enhanced tone practice,and flexible teaching using multimedia and music methods,to help students speak Chinese more accurately and fluently,and to avoid misunderstandings in foreign communication.
