Connectedness to nature refers to the degree to which an individual is connected with and belongs to nature in emotion and experience.Connectedness to nature has a strong situational nature and will be affected by the personal experience of contact with nature. This study explores the influence of connectedness to nature on prosocial behavior and the moderating role of life meaning between the two. This research includes two parts: experimental research and questionnaire research. The experimental research proves the short-term effect of connectedness to nature and the meaning of life on the prosocial behavior of college students, and the questionnaire research proves the long-term effect of the three relationships. In the experimental research, the priming paradigm is used to explore the relationship between natural connection in the laboratory, the meaning of life and the prosocial behavior of college students. The experimental results show:(1)The interaction between video type and meaning of life is significant. After watching the natural environment video, the scores of college students on prosocial behavior aresignificantly higher than the scores of watching the building environment video and the control condition video.(2)The scores of prosocial behaviors of college students in the high meaning of life group were significantly higher than those of the low meaning of life group. The questionnaire study selected 440 college students as subjects, and used the Connectedness to Nature Scale,Adolescent Prosocial Tendency Scale, and Chinese Life Meaning Questionnaire to test the relationship between natural connection, meaning of life and prosocial behavior. The results of the questionnaire show that:(1)Connectedness to Nature of college students have significant differences in majors. The post-test shows that the humanities and social sciences score higher than arts, sports, and other majors. The scores of college students about connectedness to nature have significant differences in the length of life in the pastoral area.It shows that the score of living in pastoral area for1-6 years is higher than that of living in no pastoral area.(2)There is a significant difference in the life meaning of college students in the pastoral area. The post-examination shows that the scores of living in the pastoral area for 6 years are higher than those of living in the pastoral area and living in the pastoral area for 1-6 years.(3)The prosocial behaviors of college students are significantly different in the place of origin. The post-examination shows that the place of origin is the village or town or city/union.There are significant differences in the prosocialbehavior of college students in the pastoral area, living in the pastoral area for 6 years The above score is higher than that of living in no pastoral area and living in pastoral area for 1-6 years.(4)The correlation results show that there is a significant positive correlation between natural connection and the meaning of life of college students, connectedness to nature and prosocial behavior of college students are significantly positive, and the meaning of life is significantly positive correlation with prosocial behavior.(5)Regression analysis shows that: natural connection has a significant positive predictive effect on prosocial behavior;meaning of life has a significant positive predictive effect on prosocial behavior;meaning of life regulates the influence of natural connection on prosocial behavior. At a low level of meaning of life, natural connection has a significant positive predictive effect on prosocial behavior. At a high level of meaning of life, natural connection has a more obvious positive predictive effect on prosocial behavior. In summary,it can be concluded that connectedness to nature can promote the prosocial behavior of college students, and the meaning of life can significantly regulate the relationship between connectedness to nature and prosocial behavior.
