In the context of the "Mandarin Fever",there surges a burst of "Low Age Waves" among Chinese learners in the world.However,the academic research on elementary Chinese textbooks for children is far less than that for adults.After the implementation of the New Youth Chinese Test(YCT),the "YCT Standard Course" which was compiled on the basis of the YCT test syllabus and the actual test papers was officially published in 2016.YCT Standard Course is a Chinese textbook based on YCT(the New Youth Chinese Test)syllabus and referred to the authentic test papers.This dissertation employs both manual and computerized language labeling statistics,comparative analysis and other methods,examine the matching rate between the textbooks and exam syllabus as well as exam papers from the aspects of vocabulary,grammar,language functions and exercises.The research finds that the textbook and the exam generally match well,but there are still many parts to be improved in the textbook.For example,there are quite a few things in the sub-texts that go beyond or have nothing to do with the syllabus.The number of new words actually appearing in each lesson is much greater than that is required by the syllabus and textbooks,and only 66% of the key words recurring in the textbook have been repeated 6 times or more.The overallrecurrence rate still needs to be improved,and the arrangement of grammar items is a kind of top-heavy work,etc.According to relevant conclusions,this article also gives some suggestions for textbook compilation and classroom teaching from all aspects mentioned.According to the fact that Chinese teachers in Romania have a generally poor understanding of YCT Standard Course and new YCT,this paper puts forward some suggestions on textbook compilation and examination promotion.This study does expect to help Chinese teachers use the textbook more scientifically and exert the positive effects of examinations on teaching more effectively,so as to promote sustainable and healthy development of overseas Chinese teaching.
