Due to the particularity of the water medium, traditional wireless communication cannot effectively work under the water. Although the remote underwater communicationtechnology for the large-scale underwater robot has been very mature, the short-distanceunderwater communication for the miniature underwater robot has not been well solve atpresent. Therefore, based on an autonomous robotic fish that is independently developedby Peking University, this paper designs a set of underwater communication system for therobotic fish, and realizes the underwater communication between double robotic fishonline.First, this paper presents the research status of the underwater electric fieldcommunication both at home and abroad, and introduces the carrier of the underwaterelectric field communication-the biomimetic robotic fish.Second, based on the theoretical model of underwater electric filed communicationand the characteristics of the robotic fish, this paper adopts2ASK as the modulation mode.Moreover, this paper designs the overall scheme of the underwater communication system,and gives detailed analysis on the key circuit of the system.Third, a series of underwater electric field communication experiments are conducted,which emphasize to analyze the bit error rate under different communication state. Thecomparison between the experimental results and the theoretical model verifies theeffectiveness of the underwater electric field communication system.Furthermore, this paper carries out the applications of the underwater electric fieldcommunication on the robotic fish, which further verifies the feasibility and the stabilityof the underwater electric communication system. Specifically, an underwatercommunication platform is designed to remotely control the robotic fish. Then, theimplementation mechanism of underwater electronic filed communication between doublerobotic fish is briefly explained.Finally, this paper summarizes the research of the underwater electric fieldcommunication, and gives an outline of the further work.
