Left-handed metamaterial is an artificial material with ?<0 and ?<0.CRLH TL structure is one of the left-handed structures which realize the left-handed materials.Recently,the application of CRLH TL structure on the microwave device has gained much attention.SCRLH TL structure has the advantage of compact size,simple design steps because the series capacitance CL is omitted in the SCRLH structure.UWB bandpass filters and UWB antenna,as the essential components of the UWB systems,have gained much attention in recent years.We have described the background and significance of the topic briefly and given an analysis of the normal CRLH structure and the application of it.Finally,a novel S-SCRLH structure,a band-notched UWB filter based on the structure and a band-notched UWB antenna based on the structure have been designed in this paper by reading the literature and theoretical analysis about the SCRLH structure.The main results of this study are as follows:(1)A novel splited SCRLH transmission line structures have been put forward in this paper.First,the proposed modified S-SCRLH structure is designed on the basis of this H-shaped SCRLH.The modified structure shows dual-resonance characteristics.Finally,to realize quad band-notched characteristics,we introduce another small modified structure into the original modified structure.(2)To design the UWB BPF and UWB antenna with quad highly rejected notched bands,the S-SCRLHs resonator is employed.Simulated and measured scattering parameters are described with good agreement.The fabricated UWB filter has a passband from 3.1GHz to 10.7GHz.For the quad-notched bands,the simulated results show that 4.2GHz,5.2GHz,6.3GHz,and 7.8GHz with the respective 3 dB FBW of 4.5%,3.4%,2.9%and 1.8%.The overall size is about 14 mm x 24 mm.The fabricated UWB antenna has a passband from 3.0GHz to 10.8GHz.For the quad-notched bands,the simulated results show that 3.7GHz,4.7GHz,5.8GHz and 7.4GHz.The overall size is about 25 mm × 20 mm.The proposed S-SCRLH structure,the antenna and the filter are designed by HFSS.Compared with the recently related designs,we know that the proposed structures have certain advantages of the operating performance.
