(PCF)is one of the basic working modes of the media access control(MAC)protocol of IEEE 802.11 standard,which provides a centralized control access service for the WLAN.The central control points perform uniform scheduling on the access objects.Compared with the DCF(Distributed Coordination Function)working mode based on random control,the centralized control PCF can realize the conflict network access service for the access object and provide the access delay guarantee.With the increasing demand for real-time business,PCF is also more used to provide access services for latency-sensitive and centrally controlled networks.Researchers have done a lot of research on the performance analysis of IEEE 802.11 PCF,but they focus on QoS(Quality of Service)indicators such as access delay and network throughput,and the research on network access energy efficiency is relatively few.With the wireless network showing a continuous coverage,nodes,base station dense distribution characteristics,energy consumption has gradually become a hot topic of concern.Energy efficiency has also become one of the important factors that must be considered in MAC protocol design.Therefore,this paper takes the IEEE 802.11 PCF as the research object,uses the polling control model to model the access process,and focuses on the theory and simulation analysis of the network access energy efficiency under the PCF working mode.This paper is divided into three parts.Firstly,the status duo of WLAN MAC protocol under IEEE 802.11 protocol is analyzed and summarized.Secondly,based on the theory of queuing theory,the polling model is used to model the access process in PCF mode,and the theoretical calculation formula of network access energy efficiency is deduced.Finally,the access energy consumption in PCF mode is tested by simulation experiment,which verifies the correctness of theoretical analysis and analyzes the energy efficiency of PCF.
