The Study Of Journalistic Ethics On The Report Of "Help The Old Up Disputes Incident"

Since 2006,“Peng Yu case” caused quite a stir.After that,“help the old up disputes incident” has become the focus of social issues,coverage gradually increased.However,in most of the reports,the mass media have formed a moral perspective on its construction,often to be seen as public moral orientation event narrative rather than legal disputes.This caused the essential attribute of “legal disputes incident” of the report of “help the old up disputes incident” lost to some extent.In this specific news coverage,the journalistic ethical issues,such as “public opinion direction deviation”,“lack of objectivity”,have emerged continuously.As a result,“the old people have become bad”,“not to help the old” and some other negative emotions have plunged the traditional virtue of respect elders to the unprecedented embarrassment in the society.“help the old up disputes incident” is in fact,a problem of legal disputes.In the process of news report,the mass media should not only follow the general ethical principles,more should abide by the relevant special principles of legal news reports.Because of this reason,from the perspective of legal news reports,and based on the specific standards for the journalistic ethics,this article is to analyze the ethical problems of the report of "help the old up disputes incidents",to find the causes and to put forward corresponding countermeasures.The main body of this paper consists of four parts.The first chapter differentiates and analyzes the relationship between morality and ethics to clarify the connotation of journalistic ethics,and analyzes the necessity of news and ethics and the journalistic ethics guidelines.The second chapter is to make an analysis of the report of “help the old up disputes incidents” in recent years.And to select two typical cases of “female university student of Huainan disputes” and “Nanjing Peng Yu case”,focusing on analysis of the news report process of the two incidents.I think four problems of journalistic ethics existing in the report of “help the old up disputes incidents”,noting as labeling to generalize,bias reporting frame losing objectivity,no existence of gatekeeper causing news reversal,deviation of direction of public opinion.Because of these journalistic ethical problems,the news report of “help the old” has brought some negative influences,such as very bad image of the old,the damage of media credibility and hindering the construction of socialistic legal system.The third chapter is to analyze the problems of journalistic ethics in the report of “help the old up disputes incidents”,from the perspective of society,journalistic ethics endogenous contradictions,media and the public.The fourth chapter is to put forward the corresponding measures to solve the journalistic ethics in the report of “help the old up disputes incidents”.Strengthening news self-discipline and doing better external power regulation are the two important dimensions.
