Research On The Agenda Setting Of WeChat Weibo And News Client System Of The People's Daily

Since THAAD incident broke out in June 2016,it has become more and more intense and has become the focus of extensive attention at home and abroad.It has also caused long-term and large-scale follow-up reports in Chinese media.Among them,the WeChat Weibo and News client system of the "People's Daily" has become the first choice for people to understand THAAD incident with its unique authority.This article uses a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods to select 541 articles about THAAD incidents in the WeChat Weibo and News client system of People's Daily from June 4,2016 to November 30,2017.A detailed analysis of the number of reports,layout type,report genre,news theme,reporting positions,coverage angles,sources of news,and participation of target audiences was conducted to study the characteristics and effects of the WeChat Weibo and News client system of People's Daily on the agenda setting of THAAD incident.The study found that in the setting of the agenda of the Sadr incident,the "People's Daily" Weibo had features such as macro-level grasping,highlighting key points,and using web links,and strengthening resource integration;WeChat adhered to originality and proactively carried out agenda setting and focused on viewpoints;News client system is characterized by comprehensive coverage,detailed in-depth and flexible integration of information.The WeChat Weibo and News client system of the“People's Daily”sets the agenda for the THAAD incident with features such as complementary content levels,complementary forms,complementary strengths,complementary topics,and complementary perspectives.In addition,the audience's comments and praise of the report show that the WeChat Weibo and News client system of the “People's Daily” has a better effect on the setting of the THAAD incident agenda.However,there are also problems with the agenda setting for the THAAD incident in the People's Daily.For example,the Weibo platform has insufficient agendas,the agenda lacks initiative and timeliness,the agenda is set to a single-line model,and the agenda is set.Poor structural issues.Therefore,tostrengthen the effectiveness of the agenda setting,the WeChat Weibo and News client system of the "People's Daily" can strengthen the Weibo agenda setting function,enhance the timeliness and initiative of the agenda setting,understand the needs of the audience and enhance the interaction with the audience,and conduct conscious planning,etc.The parties proceeded to further adjust the weights and roles of the three platforms' agenda settings.In this way,we can give full play to three platforms' advantages,so that the effect of setting the agenda to achieve the best.
