A Comparative Study On Using Information Technology To Support Scientific Research | | Posted on:2019-04-05 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:Y S U A D E L S I D D I G | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2428330545979512 | Subject:Education Technology | | Abstract/Summary: | | | The background of this study explained a historical development of Sudanese higher education,and some issues related to the integration of ICT higher education in Africa as a general and in Sudan particularly.It also highlighted the aims and tasks of Chinese Scholarship Council as a main institution supporting the foreigners' scholars in China.The framework of this study reviews three main directions: Firstly,explained the emergence of some research ICT technology tools which are using widely in the research arena explained how some universities and researchers have developed some models for using these tools by researchers and faculty members.Secondly,displayed some software available in the social science landscape,and this section of framework also divided into two main parts : first one explained some qualitative ICT tools for researchers to help them in their qualitative analysis,while the second part explained some ICT tools based on the quantitative researches,which provide some analytical,comments,descriptions and treatments for the numerical data.And,in the third direction discussed some common ICT tools for academic researches among the chemists and mathematicians “the target of the evaluation”.This study aims at identifying the differences and gaps between the Sudanese scholars in China and Sudan in terms of the usage of ICT research tools to support the quality of writing,outcomes and keep up with the hot issues in the academic researches.In order to achieve this aim the study has adopted several techniques to collect and evaluate the data i.e.using peer review technique for assessing on the respondents' thesis dissertations “Sudanese chemistry and mathematics scholars affiliated to ministry of higher education” who studied for postgraduate in Sudan and China.The study also used descriptive and content analysis approached for measuring and describing gaps based on reviewers' comments and the participants' responses on the questionnaires.Notable that deceptive approach the comments of the reviewers have been collected based on their evaluating and comparing of the postgraduate mathematics and chemistry theses dissertations conducted in Sudan and China while the responses of the Sudanese mathematics and chemistry scholars in China have mainly compared their post graduate achievements in Sudan and China based on the study questions.General information about the participants illustrated that the total number of Sudanese formal higher education scholars in China was 207 till the end of 2017.Female scholars who participated in filling this questionnaire were 10% while 90% were male scholars which reflect gender disparity among the females studying abroad in Sudan.As a general,the participants and reviewers responses confirmed the main assumption of this study i.e.there is are some differences in terms of ICT tools using for writing,controlling the quality of writing and keeping pace in academic researches among Sudanese chemistry and mathematics scholars who conducted their post graduate studies in China and those who conducted their post graduate studies in Sudan in favor of those who awarded their postgraduate degrees in China. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | Chemistry and Mathematic Scholars, China, ICT for Academic Researches, Northwest Normal University, Peer Review, University of Khartoum, Sudan | | Related items |
