| The heat source mainly include laser,electron beam,arc and compound heat source,because of Metal 3D printing needs high temperature to melt metal.Generally which using metal powder or using wire as printing material,these costs are very high.The general total price is not less than 100 thousand dollars,but there are some metal 3D printing system only cost several thousand dollars.By mixing metal powder with special clay as material,it can melt into a paste at a lower temperature and print it in the form of FDM(molten deposit)and then put into the kiln and calcine into the final parts at high temperature.The process is complicated.It is the first time that the consumptive metal FDM 3D printing system based on the principle of contact resistance heating is proposed.At the contact of 2 conductor points,the contact resistance will be much larger than the resistance of the conductor itself.The current can be reached,by a few volts to a dozen volts,one hundred or even several hundred.Which can be used in a local point,it produces high temperature enough to melt metal.Based on this principle,a whole system is designed and manufactured,including three axis feed,heating,wire feeding and control system.A similar Pyramid shaped part with 1060 aluminum wire is printed out in the form of FDM.It is proved that the system is feasible.A set of suitable for 1060 aluminum wire the 3D printing process parameters is found through experiments.Which including temperature,current,voltage,feed speed and wire feeding speed,and also analyzed the influence of various process parameters on the properties of 3D printing parts,such as roughness,metallurgical structure and overlapping rate.The total cost of the system is not more than 10 thousand RMB.The overall size of the system is 50cm x 50cm x 50cm.It can print 20cm x 20cm x 20cm metal aluminum parts.It is a low cost,small size,desktop consumptive metal 3D printing system. |
