Abstract/Summary:
Network traffic plays an important role in network communication systems.It is of great significance to determine the communication capacity of network servers,improve service efficiency,reduce network congestion and manage network.The upper bound and delay of network traffic are both important parameters.The conventional upper bound of traffic is loose,thus paying the cost of reducing communication efficiency in ensuring the quality of data transmission.In order to improve the utilization of resources,fractal traffic is introduced.Its stochastic upper bound model provides a theoretical basis for reducing conventional upper bound.The upper bound of fractal traffic introduces small-scale and large-scale tighten coefficients,containing small-scale and large-scale factor respectively.Therefore,studying the upper bound of fractal traffic is important to improve the communication efficiency.What's more,delay of fractal traffic is researched with the tool of min-plus convolution.It shows that with the decrease of tighten coefficients,delay becomes smaller and scale factors become larger,which reveal that stochastic upper bound model of fractal traffic can reduce delay and improve communication efficiency.In chapter one,we introduce the significance of network traffic delay and the research status at home and abroad.In chapter two,we introduce the basic knowledge of network calculus,min-plus convolution and min-plus deconvolution.The third chapter introduces the application of network calculus in computer network and several common upper bounds of traffic.The fourth chapter introduces the upper bound model and delay calculation method of conventional and fractal traffic respectively.In chapter five,we analyze the statistical characteristics of traffic delay data with curve fitting tool in MATLAB.In chapter six,an upper bound estimation system software of traffic based on GUI platform of MATLAB is designed,and its upper bound and scale factors are calculated.The main contributions of this paper are following,the study of the relationship between delay and tighten coefficients of fractal traffic,doing research on the statistical distribution model of traffic delay,and fnishing a software system to estimate upper bound of fractal traffic based on GUI platform of MATLAB.
