Research On The English Version Of The People's Literature

The new period of China's external communication has placed an important position on the "telling the Chinese story well"."Telling the Chinese stories well" has become an important proposition that General Secretary Xi Jinping repeatedly emphasized in various public places in recent years.At the same time,this is one of the topics of the theory of communication studies."Telling the Chinese stories well" takes the Marxist news concept as the ideological foundation.It instructs Chinese media to use appropriate narrative methods to spread Chinese voices and create a comprehensive and rich Chinese image.It is also the historical mission of China's external media and even all current media in China.The English version of "People's Literature" was launched in November 2011.It is the English version of "People's Literature" magazine.The English name is PATHLIGHT,and the naming has the meaning of "a street lamp." "People's Literature" hopes to be the English version of "People's Literature" and hopes that it can become a shining light on the road of Chinese-Western cultural exchanges and guide the direction of Chinese literature for overseas readers.The English version of "People's Literature" is an important medium for Chinese literature to "going global".It is responsible for the mission of Chinese literature to communicate to the outside world and the spread of Chinese culture.It also shoulders the historic mission of "telling the Chinese story well."This article takes the English version of People's Literature as the research object and uses the content analysis method,the case study method and the literature data method to study the total of 18 periodicals since its inception.How to tell the "Chinese story".The paper summarizes the English version of the Chinese literary periodicals and the English version of the People's Literature,and explains that the "telling the Chinese story well" is the historical mission of China's external media.The content,arrangement and rigging of the English version of People's Literature were studied and analyzed.It is proposed that the foreign language edition of Chinese literary periodicals need to pay attention to accurate expression in practice to minimize cultural misunderstandings;pay attention to personalized expression and focus on details,pass on Chinese culture and Chinese spirit;pay attention to universal expression,emphasizing emotional resonance among different countries;pay attention to artistic expression,enhance emotional renderings,increase the artistic appreciation value of periodicals;focus on technical expression,innovative presentation methods,and helping Chinese literature better "going out".This study hopes to be able to inspire the specific practices of foreign language editions of Chinese literary periodicals.Under the background of frequent global cultural exchange activities and the need to "going out" in Chinese literature,we hope that the foreign edition of Chinese literary periodicals will be able to adapt to the new situation and improve continuously.Telling the Chinese stories well,spreading the Chinese voice,and playing its due role.
