Shao Lizi(1882—1967)was a patriotic person who made a major contribution to the Chinese people's democratic revolution.In addition,he was praised by Mao Zedong as a “Peace old man”.At the same time,he was a revolutionary reporter who made important contributions to China's modern journalism.Shao Lizi participated in the founding of China Daily,Minhu Daily,Minxu Daily,Minli Newspaper and the Republic of China Daily.In addition,he edited Awakening supplement that one of the four major supplements during the May 4th Movement.His press activities and thoughts played an important role in the history of Chinese news and provided valuable experience for the contemporary media.Press activities are a very important part of Shao Lizi's life.From 1907 to 1925,his newspaper activity is very active.He published thousands of news comments in 18 years.This paper demonstrates from three aspects based on Shao Lizi's newspaper thinking and press activities.First of all,in order to explore the formation of his early thoughts,the author studied his previous experience in the newspaper industry and the founding of the China Daily.In the second part,the author demonstrated that Shao Lizi's thought of Newspapers and Periodicals for the People's livelihood was based on his press activities in the period of the Shu Sanmin newspaper.In the third part,the author combed the history of the Republic of China and Awakening Supplement and Shao Lizi's publications initiative.During this period,Shao Lizi described the nature of newspapers as a public opinion organ and the responsibility of identifying public opinion with the main goal of reforming society.Shao Lizi made it clear that the reporter is the role of social enlighteners and hopers,and he should participate in the movement to transform the society as an independent critic.
