Human auditory system can perceive and recognize the surrounding environment,including subjective attribute perception and spatial perception of sound.The purpose of spatial sound is to replay the spatial information of acoustic field and produce or reproduce all kinds of spatial auditory events.In recent years,spatial sound technology has been widely used in multimedia and computer,virtual reality,communication,and so on.Virtual auditory replay technology via headphone is more suitable for portable device sound terminal.The spatial sense and timbre of virtual sound source are two important content to evaluate the effect of playback.Simulation of binaural signals by HRTF can produce desired spatial auditory events.However,the use of non-personalized HRTF for signal processing leads to some problem,for example,source direction distortion,confusion of front and back,and incomplete elimination of head position.The most accurate method for obtaining personalized HRTF is experimental measurement and calculation,which is time-consuming and complicated.Therefore,simple and practical method of customizing personalized HRTF is worthy for further study.On the other hand,HRTF is correlated with frequency,which will change the timbre of the original signal and affect the overall sound quality.Accordingly,a proper timbre equalization method is also needed.There is a certain contradiction between HRTF timbre equalization and location performance.To balance the two requirements is to evaluates and optimizes all kinds of equalization methods and parameters,thus make a certain compromise between them.In order to solve these problems,this paper carried out the following work:Firstly,combining with the binaural playback of 5.1 channel surround sound,a pairwise comparison method is used to select matching HRTF as the approximate personalized HRTF from the HRTF database which has been clustered and analyzed.The corresponding subjective psychoacoustics experiments show that the matching HRTF can improve the localization effect during playback.Secondly,the effect of the two existing timbre equalization methods is compared by subjective experiments in the case of using KEMAR HRTF and approximate personalized HRTF respectively.The power equalization method is originally used for loudspeakers.Butexperimental results show that in the steady state virtual playback of headphone,it can also improve timbre without causing a significant decrease in the positioning performance.In this paper,the virtual auditory playback technology based on headphone is studied in terms of obtaining approximate personalized HRTF and timbre equalization,which provides reference for practical application.
