Design And Implementation Of Online Examination Analysis System Based On Eye-Movement Measurement

With the development of computer technology and Internet,the online examination by using the network-connected computers has gradually become a trend.Currently,the online examination has been successfully applied to TOEFL IELTS,online learning,business recruitment and other fields.In order to automatically mark the questions,most questions of the online examination are objective and the judgment of test scores is whether the right answers are chosen.However,the result of the test cannot fully represent the extent the examinee grasps the knowledge points,for example,he may guess the right answer.This simple evaluation method is lack of the fine measurement of the examination process.As the eye-movement measurement technology matures,a new technical approach is provided for online examination evaluation by acquiring the examinees' eye-movement behavior data in the examination process.In this paper,the online examination system based on eye-movement measurement is explored.The main contribution of this paper is to design and imply a practical online examination system based on the eye-movement measurement,including online examination subsystem,data measurement subsystem and data analysis subsystem.The system collects the eye-movement data by the eye-movement measure instrument which is configured on the test machine,and then the data are transmitted to the backstage for the related analysis after the test.In the analysis process,the evaluation merit,reference score rate,is creatively proposed by combining the thinking process,which is speculated by the located region of the examinee's line of sight and eye moving path,with the test results.This merit is more effective than the traditional one to judge the answer.It can effectively describe the degree of the examinee's hesitation between the right and wrong choices and provide a new way to evaluate the examination process.This paper verifies the functions of the whole system by the system complete operation.In addition,the real test experiments of this system is conducted among the students.The experimental results show that the obvious difference exists between the merits,reference score rate and the traditional correct rate.Therefore,teachers can specifically adjust the interpretation of the questions and the teaching direction based on the reference score rate.The reference score rate also benefits the researches of the online examination process and examination paper evaluation.
