Conformal phased array radar with accurate polarimetry capability which has the advantages of fast beam scanning and flexible signal processing will play an important role in the future meteorological observation,air surveillance,anti-missile and other fields.The polarimetric characteristics of the fully-polarized conformal array antenna are changed with the beam scanning angle.The fully-polarized conformal array antennas' electromagnetic coupling between antenna elements is more severe than in planar arrays.These factors make the accurate polarimetry of conformal phased array radar become a challenging topic.The thesis focus on the accurate polarimetry of conformal phased array rada.The thesis studies the spatial polarization characteristics and polarimetric bias correction of conformal phased array radar.The research results are as follows:Analysis of spatial polarization characteristics of fully-polarized conformal array.The thesis derive from the basic the radiation field of electric current source and magnetic current source.The thesis deduces the expression of the radiated electric field of the fully polarized antenna element and establishes the spatial polarization model of the conformal array antenna.Due to the non-orthogonality of the two –port radiated electric fields,the thesis proposes a method to Characterization the Polarization Purity in the Main Beam of a Conformal Array Antenna by calculate the angle of the two –port vector.The simulation of the fully-polarized cylindrical array shows the angle of the two –port vector's regular pattern.The thesis simulate the elements' patterns of fully-polarized cylindrical array by simulation software HFSS.Based on this analysis,the variation of the electromagnetic coupling between the antenna elements in the cylindrical array is analyzed.Analysis and modelling of spatial polarization characteristics of fully-polarized conformal array.The thesis proposed a method to improves the traditional boresight correction for fully polarized conformal array antenna,considering the radiation characteristics of fully-polarized conformal array.This method takes the spatial arrangement of conformal array into consideration.This method also takes fully polarimetric conformal antenna elements' mutual coupling and the bias of fully-polarized conformal array's electric field into consideration.The thesis verified the method by simulation and presents the simulation data to show the performance of bias correction on fully-polarized conformal array.The theoretical basis of precision bias correction of conformal array with full polarization is established.
