An Research Of Virtual Private Network Based On ONOS Cluster | | Posted on:2020-10-08 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:W D Guo | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2428330572472143 | Subject:Information and Communication Engineering | | Abstract/Summary: | | | With the growing requirements of cloud computing and big-data,SDN technology is developing rapidly.Through separating the network's control logic of the underlying devices responsible for traffic forwarding,SDN technology makes the network virtualization more flexible and efficient.Thus,the SDN virtual private network has become an important evolution direction of the future network.However,the problem that the single-point SDN controller may lead to network limitation and unreliability,the problem that the IP and optical network cannot be managed together and the problem that tenants cannot easily construct the virtual private network through existing open source SDN controller become the limitation of the development of the SDN virtual private network.In order to solve the above three problems,this thesis researches and designs the optical virtual private network based on an open source SDN controller ONOS.Aiming at the problem of network limitation and unreliability caused by the single-point SDN controller,this thesis designs to deploy multiple ONOS controllers in the network.These multiple controllers constitute an ONOS cluster with each controller directly controls a part of the physical network within its capability.Every controller in the cluster achieves and manages the global topology based on typical distributed consistency protocols through east-west communication.Aiming at the problem that the IP and optical network cannot be managed together,this thesis designs an IP+ optical Layer 2 network model based on the existing mainstream technology and the network model supported by the simulation software.Based on this model and ONOS intent subsystem,this thesis designs and implements an optical network calculation module to converse the intents between IP switches to intents between optical switches.This module also implements the re-route function xwhich means that when the links or switches fail in the optical layer,intent between IP switches can be automatically reinstalled.Aiming at the problem that tenants cannot easily construct the virtual private network through existing open source SDN controller,this thesis designs an optical virtual private network app on the application layer of the ONOS controller.This app is constructed of virtual network appl:ication layer,virtual network core layer and virtual network provider layer according to the original ONOS controller architecture.With this app,tenants can build their own virtual private network and issue virtual network intents.Virtual network intents will be firstly mapped into intents between IP switches and finally converted into intents between optical switches.This mechanism ensures the basic construction and transmission function of the virtual network.At last,this thesis constructs the simulation network based on the designed physical network model and verifies the corresponding functions of the optical virtual private network based on ONOS cluster.The experiment results prove the feasibility and usability of the whole research. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | virtual private network, cluster, unified control, sdn, optical network | | Related items |
