In the RFID system, the analog circuit of RFID tag chip as a key module to connect with the outside world needs to ensure that the whole chip works correctly. Therefore, the design of low-power,long-distance RFID front-end circuit can improve the competitiveness of wireless products. This thesis firstly introduces the principles of RFID energy harvesting circuit,ILFD and IR-UWB circuit, and the key technologies are pointed out. Then each module of the RFID energy harvesting circuit is designed and simulated.Secondly,ILFD is used to extract the clock, and an incoherent demodulation circuit and a self-calibrated ring oscillator are designed.Furthermore,a waveform synthesis circuit based on fifth-order Gauss pulse is designed to generate a notch UWB pulse at 5GHz.F:inally,the layout design of each module is completed, and the corresponding post-simulation results are given. The main achievements of this thesis are as follows:(1)Based on Dickson structure, the method of threshold self-compensation not only reduces the complexity of the circuit, but also reduces the influence of threshold voltage,so as to improve the sensitivity.(2)The injection-locked frequency divider in the clock extraction module adopts the third harmonic inj ection method to improve the injection efficiency.A ring oscillator with self-calibration function is provided to stabilize the cdock.(3)The IR-UWB generator uses all-digital waveform to synthesize pulses, and provides a method of combining pulse waveforms and Suppressing Narrowband interference. In theory, arbitrary waveforms can be combined. In addition, using TSMC 0.18pum CMOS process design layout, this tixesis gives the footprint of the whole front-end circuit. The simulation results show that the whole RFID front-end circuit can realize the energy harvesting and data transmission of EPC GEN2 tag.
