Research On The Quality Of Reporters In The "People's Daily" Reporter's Day Reports(2000-2018)

November the 8th was officially established as Journalist Day each year with the approval of the State Council in 2000,since when journalists have been attracted.And Journalist Day has become an important topic for reports in early November each year.When the Journalist Day approaches,journalists are not only the writers of the news report,but also the parties concerned in the news event and the interviewees of the interview.They celebrate their festivals with their pens,portray their own images and praise the deeds of their peers.At the same time,journalists are also in the spotlight as the protagonist of the festival in the reports.Through different forms of reports,expectations of their role and requirements of their quality of the leaders' and the public are expressed.People's Daily,as the newspaper of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China,has a long history and rich experience in running newspapers.Its reports on Journalist Day are rich in content and complete in type,and are a good sample for the research.In the past 19 years,its reports on Journalist Day included articles on conferencs and persons and commentaries.Many of them have statements about the quality of journalists.They together form a picture of the quality of journalists.With the quality picture of journalists in reports on Journalist Day of People's Daily as the research target,this thesis discusses the presentation and construction of quality picture,and focuses on solving problems like what the quality picture is,from what perspective it is constructed and what characteristics are presented.The research mainly uses content analysis methods to combine quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis.The first part analyzes the content of related texts in the reports on Journalist Day of People's Daily from 2000 to 2018.The research sample is coded from two categories of news reports and journalist quality,and the third-party library of python software and wordcloud are used to deal with the singularity and word segmentation,statistics and visualization,presenting the forms of reports on journalists' quality and the characteristics of journalists in the three dimensions of political literacy,business ability and moral ethics in reports on Journalist Day of People's Daily.The second part is to study the quality construction with a focus on the perspective the picture is constructed.The third part is to study the characteristics of the quality picture in reports on Journalist Day of People's Daily.It analyzes the picture from the perspective of the overall characteristics and the changes of the years,and points out that the picture reflect the role of journalists as “the party's mouthpieces”,“the era recorders full of ideals and missions” and “holding on the ground,never stagnating and constant innovating”.The fourth part,based on the characteristics of the construction perspective and construction features,discusses the construction significance of the quality picture of journalists in reports on Journalist Day of People's Daily.The quality picture reflects the expectations of journalists themselves as well as the state and the public on the role and development direction of journalists.This study hopes to reveal the professional development condition,development expectation and development direction of the journalist community in the new century by studying the picture content,picture construction and picture characteristics of the reporst on Journalist Day in People's Daily from 2000 to 2018.
