European consumers used to turn off the lights while placing a lamp beside the television when watching TV.Philips developed Ambilight technology on Philips Television.This technology not only meets the requirements of lamps beside the television,but also creates a halo around the TV wall.This halo is created by using centural processor to analize display content then matches with the content and dynamically changes its color and brightness,end users will feel as if display content overflow the screen,resulting a immersive visually feeling.Currently,this technology uses RGB LED lightbar,which is fixed on back cover of TV closed to the edge.The light of RGB LED lightbar is different from light of LCD display.So it is neccessory to adjust RGB LED color and brightness.To adjust Ambilight module's color temperature,we adapt the matrix calculation algorithm.Measure x,y and L value of LED light under red,green and blue color,convert x,y and L value to X,Y,Z and calculate with X,Y,Z value of target color temperature using matrix method,Output the calculated value to RGB LED controller,LED color temperature will match TV display color temperature,thus reaching display effect.With this calculation method,each television adjustment time can save 15 seconds.When producing different size TVs,the production line need to adjust the measurement equipment which makes low efficiency of the production line.This article introduces an automatic position adjustment meathod which improves product switch time from 40 minutes to within 20 seconds.The FastStand system which is widely used in Philips TV production lines was developed by Philips software engineer.When introducing new automatic methods to a new station,we need to use script configuration.This article introduces how to build up a new script to control related equipment to make ambilight automation adjustment possible.
