With the prosperity of children's book publishing industry in China and the increasing variety of children's books on the market,how to choose suitable books for children readers in the vast sea of books has become an educational problem for many parents.Under the current situation that it is difficult to select books due to the rich reading resources,graded reading,as a scientific concept in line with the growth laws of children,is helpful for planning the publication of children's books,guiding parents in selecting and purchasing books,and more importantly,helping children readers develop good reading habits step by step and develop their interest in reading.In Europe and the United States,the concept of graded reading has been deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.With the development of nearly one hundred years,a variety of grading methods have been derived,a scientific evaluation system for children's reading level has been developed,and many children's graded reading book brands have been established.However,in China,the research on graded reading is still in its infancy.As a book production department with abundant excellent author resources and direct access to children readers,the publishing industry has taken the lead in many beneficial attempts in theoretical research and application promotion of graded reading.Some high-quality children's graded reading books have expanded the reading demand of children readers and provided a new growth point and a driving force for the sustainable development of the publishing industry,This paper focuses on the publishing strategies of children's graded reading books in China,and is divided into five chapters:The first chapter is the introduction,which consists of four parts:research background,research significance,literature review,research methods and innovation points.The second chapter starts from the basic concept of graded reading,explains the theoretical basis behind it and introduces its development in Britain,America and China.By comparison,it is found that the mainstream grading method in America has been able to conduct quantitative assessment of text difficulty and children's reading level.In Britain,graded reading extends from in-class reading to after-class reading,and has national reading guidelines.However,the research and promotion of graded reading in China are still in the preliminary exploration stage.The third chapter goes back to the publishing industry,analyzes the current situation of children's graded reading books in China,and finds that the publishing of some graded reading books on the market has become purely commercial marketing purposes,and there is a lack of original graded children's books with the purpose of improving Chinese reading ability and brand series with a complete reading guidance system.Fourth chapter selected a original Chinese graded reading series "Sponge Children Graded Reading as a case,which is independent research result in China,to combined it with Chinese graded reading books published by the Disney company,reviewed and analyzed the publishing strategies respectively.In contrast,found the selected articles' depth of topic increases with the level of the book,and the arrangement of the genre it is suitable for children to read at the corresponding level,the selected articles also can reasonable cohesion school reading and family reading.But at the same time its text difficulty not showed obvious grading gradient.In the aspect of reading instruction,the evaluation questions set after the article deepen the reading ability step by step.In terms of overall design,this set of books presents a slightly monotonous form,without differentiated design according to the level.In terms of promotion and marketing,books publishing team design the three-dimensional marketing solutions for children,parents and teachers respectively,which played a good propaganda effect,and spread the correct concept of graded reading at the same time.However,when it is sold online,it is attributed to the label of children's literature,whose own characteristics are not highlighted,and its function as a graded book is covered.Chapter five summarizes the gains and losses of the publishing strategy of Sponge Children Graded Reading from the aspects of content,form and promotion,and gives enlightenment to other graded reading children's books in China.It is believed that the text difficulty should be quantified,so as to flexibly match the appropriate book level according to the individual reading level.The form can be linked with the online education industry to enrich its carrier form and attract the interest of children readers to the greatest extent.The promotion aspect must unite the social strength from all walks of life,constructs the value identity to the graded reading altogether.
