The signal system of analog TV uses interlaced scanning and signal system of digital TV uses progressive scanning.At present stage,digital TV still needs to be compatible with analog TV signals.The De-interlacing algorithm can well convert interlaced video to progressive scan video.Based on the mainstream De-interlacing algorithms currently,this paper proposed an edge adaptive De-interlacing algorithm based on motion detection,and implemented the system for the improved alogrithm,and analyzed the performance of improved alogrithm.The main research contents are as follows:(1)For motion detection,the motion adaptive threshold was introduced to determine the motion state of the pixel to be inserted,considering the influence of noise on motion detection;and the motion weight was introduced,the motion state of the pixel to be inserted was specifically divided into 8 motion levels to refine the motion state.(2)For edge angle detection,the high and low angle of the edge direction for pixel to be inserted were pre-determinated;and the definition for edge of the images which have rich details was optimized;the edge angle was divided into 5+8+8 mode,and the high angle [45,135] range was divided into five kinds of angles,and the angles of the low angle [11,45] range and the [135,169] range were respectively divided into eight kinds of angles to accurate the edge direction of the inserted pixel.(3)Summated the static interpolation and motion interpolation according to the motion weight to obtain the final pixel value to be inserted to correct the result that was pre-inserted.(4)The improved algorithm was implemented systematically.The experimental results showed that the average peak signal-to-noise ratio PSNR of the improved algorithm was 0.7dB higher than the median filtering algorithm,and which was 1.2dB higher than the inter-field interpolation algorithm Weave,and which was 0.8dB higher than inner-field interpolation algorithm LA,and which was 0.9dB higher than the enhanced edge interpolation algorithm AELA.The video processed by improved algorithm better solved the problems of aliasing,feathering,sharpness and smoothness of the original video.
