| Non-coherent ultra-wideband(UWB)systems have received much attention due to their low complexity,without the need of channel estimation,and accurate synchronization.This thesis studies the channel coding techniques for non-coherent UWB systems.In order to improve the transmission reliability,polar codes was recently introduced into non-coherent UWB systems due to their capability of approaching the Shannon channel capacity,and low coding and decoding complexity.In order to further improve the performance of coded system using polar codes with short and medium length,this thesis introduces the Spinal-Polar concatenated coding scheme into the non-coherent UWB system.The main work is summarized as follows.Firstly,the Spinal-Polar concatenated codes are introduced into non-coherent UWB system,in which the inner codes adopt successive cancellation(SC)decoding scheme.Aiming at the implementation process that Spinal-Polar concatenated coding scheme is introduced non-coherent UWB system,the key parameters needed are analyzed and discussed,including encoding and decoding parameters of outer codes,the information bit channel index selection algorithm of inner codes and noise variance needed in the process of information bit channel index selection of inner codes.Simulation results show that,compared with the coded non-coherent UWB system using Spinal-Polar sequential concatenated codes,the coded system using Spinal-Polar interleaved concatenated codes has better bit error rate(BER)performance.In the case of the same coding rate,the Spinal-Polar concatenated coding scheme can improve BER performance of coded system using polar codes with short and medium length.Secondly,cyclic redundancy check codes(CRC)assisting successive cancellation list(SCL)algorithm is used to decode the inner codes for the coded transmitted reference pulse cluster(TRPC)UWB system using Spinal-Polar interleaved coding scheme.Simulation results show that,in the case of the same coding rate,the performance of coded TRPC-UWB system using Spinal-Polar interleaved coding scheme gets better as thenumber of SCL decoding path and the number of CRC check bits increases.Moreover,the BER performance of coded TRPC-UWB system using Spinal-Polar interleaved coding scheme with SC decoding for inner codes is further improved by using CRC-SCL decoding for inner codes. |
