With the rapid development of video multimedia applications,people's demand for high-definition,ultra-high-definition video continues to increase,the original video coding standard can no longer meet the actual development needs.In order to further improve the compression efficiency of the video,the Joint Collaborative Group of Video Coding has developed a new video coding standard HEVC(High Efficiency Video Coding,HEVC/H.265).As a new generation of video coding standard,HEVC retains the framework of traditional video coding.At the same time,it also achieves about 50% bitrate reduction compared to the previous generation standard H.264/AVC under the same perceptual video quality by adopting many new coding techniques.However,the increase in compression performance also brings a huge amount of coding complexity.Therefore,how to further improve the compression efficiency of the video and reduce the coding computational complexity is a research hotspot of HEVC.This thesis first describes the whole coding framework of HEVC,and optimizes the algorithm from two parts of CU(Coding Unit,CU)partitioning and PU(Purpose Unit,PU)mode selection of the inter prediction module,thereby reducing the coding complexity.Aiming at the high complexity of HEVC inter-frame CU block partitioning,this thesis proposes a fast algorithm for depth selection of coding unit.First,using the depth information of the current CU and the neighboring CUs in the space-time domain,the depth range of the current CU is preliminarily predicted,and then the current CU depth selection is further determined based on the current CU and the motion vector(Motion Vector,MV)information.Experimental results show that compared with the HEVC test model(HM16.0),the proposed algorithm can reduce the encoding time by an average of 30% while ensuring a very low video quality.Aiming at the high complexity of HEVC inter-frame PU decision process,this thesis proposes a fast algorithm for inter-frame PU mode selection.First analyze the correlation between the current PU and the optimal PU mode between the current space-time neighboring CUs,and then use the best PU mode of the parent CU to filter the current candidate PU mode so as to reduce the traversal of the inter-frame PU mode,and reduce the coding computational complexity.The experimental results show that compared with the HEVC test model(HM16.0),the proposed algorithm can reduce the encoding time by about 40% on average while ensuring a very low video quality.
