Device-to-device(D2D)communication is one of the key technologies for the 5G system. The introduction of energy harvesting technology in D2 D communication enables D2 D devices to harvest energy from the ambient environment, thereby increasing the battery life. However, the energy harvested from the environment is often characterized by randomness and discontinuity. Therefore,in order to cope with these characteristics, this paper aims to study how to use random energy to maintain stable communication,i.e.energy scheduling problem.Although some academic literature has made some progress in the energy scheduling, all related work does not fully consider the characteristics of D2 D communication that are listed as follows: 1)D2D communication distance is short, hence its transmit power is considerably low,and its communication energy consumption cannot simply equals to the transmission power;2)Cellular-based D2 D communication causes interference to cellular communication. In order to ensure the quality of cellular communication,it is necessary to limit the maximum transmit power of D2 D communication;3)D2D devices are typically powered by batteries, and storing the collected electrical energy directly in the battery can result in frequent charge and discharge, thereby reducing battery life.To this end, this paper studies the energy scheduling strategy of D2 D communication based on energy harvesting technology. The main work is as follows:1.In order to establish a reasonable energy scheduling model and fully consider the characteristics of D2 D communication,a hybrid method using battery and capacitor is proposed, and the circuit processing overhead is included in the total energy consumption, and the maximum transmission power of D2 D communication is also considered to reduce interference with cellular communications.2.For the offline energy scheduling problem, this paper formulates it into a mathematical optimization problem, transforms the problem into a convex optimization problem, and analyzes the nature of the optimal solution of the problem, fully analyzing the effects of processing overhead and maximum power limitation. Finally,an offline energy scheduling algorithm is built on this basis.3.Aiming at the online energy scheduling problem, this paper studies the optimal energy scheduling strategy based on Bernoulli energy arrival model. On this basis,a low complexity sub-optimal energy scheduling strategy is designed and extended to independent and identical distribution energy model. Finally, the performance gap between the optimal energy scheduling strategy and the optimal strategy is analyzed. In summary, this paper fully considers the characteristics of D2 D communication and energy harvesting technology, studies the online energy scheduling problem and offline energy scheduling problem in D2 D context, and proposes a corresponding algorithm to improve the communication throughput in the case of energy limitation, and maximize the communication rate. Finally, through a large number of numerical simulation experiments, the validity of the proposed algorithm and the correctness of relevant theoretical conclusions are verified.
