With the development of hardware and computer graphics technology,the simulation technology of realistic grassland scene related research methods are also in progress.In recent years,many researchers have studied the methods of grass modeling and dynamic simulation,and significant progress has been made,but large-scale realistic grassland scenes rendering in real-time scene needs further research,and the research of the distribution of grass is relatively less.At present,the research of the simulation of realistic grassland could not achieve a good balance in the reality of sense and real-time rendering,there is still more room for research and improvement.This paper is dedicated to research and improve the existing methods and technology,to make it suitable for large scale dynamic scenes simulation method of the grass to make it balanced the realism of the simulation and real-time.The main results of this thesis are:(1)Based on statistical theory,cursive for the problem of existing grass distribution methods ‘dense and sparse areas aren't natural,proposed a grass distribution method based on the position probability,get the natural aggregates distribution maps.In addition,creatively combining grass distribution and terrain model,accurately calculate the height of the grass root vertex coordinates,which solved the problem of not close fitting between the grass and the ground,to further enhances the sense of reality.(2)For large-scale grassland scene grass expression and simplification,this paper based on LOD,designed and realized a hybrid script modeling method,using a geometric model for close grass' simulating,and using star billboard structure in grass' s simulating in middle distance,to make up for the existing hybrid modeling method's lack less of realistic.In addition,also studied the transition strategy for LOD,through the control of different models in the transition zone of weights,and solved the problem of unnatural transition between different levels of detail model.(3)For dynamic simulation of grassland scenes,this paper based on the idea of LOD,the near distance geometry model of dynamic simulation to take based on physical method,considering the gravity,elasticity and wind and other factors,achieved a good sense of reality;for medium distance,based on the dynamic simulation of the star billboard of the grass,based on the methods of process,and through sharing geometric grass deformation data to achieve a billboard grass approximate deformation,while maintaining the premise of real-time and further enhance the sense of reality.Realize the simplification and improvement of the existing script collision detection algorithm by limiting the scope of collision detection of grasses enhanced the realism of the scene at the same time,as well as the real-time.
