Today, with the development of information communication technology, the media has become an important information channel for people to perceive changes in the world around them.Studying the media's coding logic for news texts can help us more clearly see the media's presentation and construction of news facts. This thesis adopts the relevant definition of frame theory by Zhai Guoren, and uses quantitative content analysis to take a sample o f the 2018 news reports on the Sino-US trade war between People's Daily and The New York Times. On the basis of extracting the framework used by the two newspapers for trade war reports, the paper analyzes and summarizes the trade war facts constructed by the two newspapers,in order to provide reference value and reference for the construction and dissemination of relevant reports in the future. The third chapter analyzes the framework of the number, genre, length and theme of the report, and finds that the People's Daily focuses more on the theme of “trade conflict” in the trade war report process, while the New York Times focuses more on the theme of economic impact.".In the number of reports, the People's Daily reported a large number of pre-and inter-term reports, and the number of reports in the latter period was small. The New York Times reported a relatively balanced number. In the reporting genre, the People's Daily's commentary was significantly more than the New York Times. In the coverage of the two newspapers, the middle and long articles are mainly used.In terms of the source of the reports, the two newspapers have achieved a balanced collection of information sources.Chapter 4,through the extraction and analysis of the middle-level framework, finds that the New York Times uses the economic impact framework and the responsibility framework to analyze the passage and impact of trade war events, and uses the humanistic framework and conflict framework to increase the conflict of news reports.Dramatic, weaker in moral judgment and attitude expression. The People's Daily uses the ethical framework and the responsibility framework to express its critique of the US policy and the strengthening of the Chinese position. The economic impact is characterized by dichotomy, and the performance of the human sentiment framework is weaker and the reporting method is more serious. The fifth chapter summarizes through a high-level framework, and the People's Daily tries to construct a big country image that advocates mutual benefit and win-win,promotes global economy and trade, and denies the US's trade protectionism in the report, showing that it must fight against trade. The determination to win.The New York Times, through relevant reports, expressed worries about future global economic development, analyzed the economic impact of trade wars, expressed doubts about China's and the US's policies, and weakened US trade protectionism and Discussion of the sideism. Finally, from the particularity of media positioning, media environment, media tradition and trade war events, the reasons for the differences in the framework of Sino-US media in trade station reports are analyzed. In the relevant reports in the future,it is suggested that the People's Daily will strengthen the human sentiment of news reporting while adhering to its firm stance.
