Due to the advanced coding schemes utilized in second generation digital video broadcasting over satellite(DVB-S2),receivers have to function at low signal-to-noise(SNR).From the perspective of synchronization,the major challenges are frame synchronization and carrier recovery.For frame synchronization,it is design to provide reliable operation in the case which the minimum SNR is-2.35 dB and with frequency offset.The frame synchronization in DVB-S2 system utilizes the physical layer header(PLHeader)in the data frame.PLHeader consists of start of the frame and physical layer signaling code.To addresses the problem of robust frame synchronization for DVB-S2 systems in the presence of carrier frequency offset and low SNR,a differential detection frame synchronization scheme with partially-decoding-aided on Reed-Muller(RM)codes is proposed.The proposed scheme decodes some single bits in the both scenario without frequency offset and scenario with frequency offset,according to the fact that the results of the XOR of two encoded bits are the same information bit and the intervals of the two encoded bits are same.Furthermore,the results of the partially decoding are used to eliminate the uncertainty of physical layer signaling in correlation peak to improve the performance of frame synchronization.It is shown through computer simulation that the proposed scheme generally outperformed the existing scheme.Furthermore,in order to verify the performance of DVB-S2 system receiver synchronization algorithm in real test environment,this paper builds DVB-S2 system simulation verification platform based on universal software radio peripherals to realize the function of clock recovery and frame synchronization and carrier recovery module of the receiver.The performance of each module of the receiver is analyzed by software simulation,and the performance of the receiver synchronization algorithm of DVB-S2 system is tested in real environment.The test results show that the designed receiver synchronization algorithm can eliminate the influence of clock offset,carrier frequency offset and phase offset.
