Insulator is an important insulating component of transmission line.Due to lack of protection,its insulation performance will gradually decrease under the adverse external environment,which has great potential safety hazards.Insulator performance is mainly inspected by periodic manual inspection in China,which is inefficient and dangerous,and prone to errors and omissions.The purpose of this paper is to solve some technical problems of insulator detection system and to study the robot system for insulator detection.When in use,the robot can be controlled and task set by remote control,so that the robot can automatically crawl along the insulator string and check the resistance of each insulator,and then import the test data into the data platform for management and viewing.The work done in this paper is as follows:Firstly,this paper introduces the application background of insulators,the common insulator performance methods,and the research status of insulator robots at home and abroad.Secondly,the application scenario,working environment and tasks of the Insulator Inspection Robot are studied in this paper.A crawling robot mechanism adapted to the insulator strings with various diameters and distances is proposed,and the mechanical structure is designed.Thirdly,the other parts of the insulator detection robot system are studied,including the hardware,software,remote control system and data platform client,and they are designed.Finally,the function of the insulator detection robot system designed in this paper is tested through experiments,and the feasibility of the design scheme of the robot mechanism is verified.After the experiment,it is proved that the robot,remote controller and data platform in the insulator detection robot system designed in this paper can work normally,and the mechanism design scheme is also feasible.
