Academic reading is an important means for humanities scholars to accumulate academic knowledge,acquire scientific research resources and track the frontiers of disciplines,among which the books are the most popular reading resources.With the development of information technology,information technology has gradually become an indispensable research tool for humanities scholars,and the digital reading has been widely accepted by humanities scholars.However,while the digital reading brings convenience to scientific research,it also brings the challenges,such as information overload,cognitive load and other reading problems.In order to understand the reading content effectively,humanities scholars must take the initiative to adopt certain reading strategies.On the other hand,scientists usually have an accurate reading task and goal in academic reading.Different reading tasks involve different cognitive processes,and scientists need to use different reading strategies.However,most of the current research on academic reading strategies is aimed at college students,and there is a lack of research on reading strategies of experts and scholars in specific disciplines,and few studies systematically explore the impact of reading tasks on reading strategies.Based on the above reasons,this paper investigates and analyzes the usage of ebook reading strategies of humanities scholars through literature analysis,user interviews and questionnaires.First of all,this study combs the related research on reading strategies through literature review,based on the academic reading characteristics of humanities scholars,and then obtains the classification of e-book reading strategies of humanities scholars.Secondly,this study combs the related research on reading tasks,and concludes the classification of e-book reading tasks of humanities scholars through in-depth interviews.Then,a questionnaire on the use of ebook reading strategies of humanities scholars is compiled based on the classification of e-book reading strategy and the classification of task of humanities scholars.Finally,descriptive statistics and sample paired T-test are conducted on the data collected in the questionnaire to obtain the results of the usage of e-book reading strategies of humanities scholars.Through analysis,this paper finds that:(1)humanities scholars have a high level of overall use of reading strategies when reading e-books;(2)the T-test indicates significant differences among different reading tasks in the use of e-book reading strategies of humanities scholars;(3)humanities scholars have significantly different preferences in reading strategies when completing different e-book reading tasks;(4)It is further found that the use of reading strategies by humanities scholars in different ebook reading tasks also has individual differences.Finally,based on the research findings,this paper also puts forward corresponding suggestions on the functional design of the e-book reading system for humanities scholars.
