With the rapid development of digital technology and information technology, people have enjoyed many conveniences brought by digitalization and informationization. But at the same time, security issues such as copyright protection of digital products are becoming increasingly important. At this time, the emergence of digital watermarking technology provides a good solution for such problems. The general watermark will affect the original carrier image in the process of embedding and extraction. However, for some special application fields, such as medical images, military maps, legal evidence, etc.,due to its strict use,the watermark information must be free after extraction distorted restoration of the original carrier image. In response to this situation,a reversible watermarking technology has emerged. The biggest feature of reversible watermarking technology is that it can recover the original carrier information completely and without distortion after extracting the watermark information.Reversible watermarking technology has developed rapidly and has become the focus of information security. However,at present, the problems of low watermark embedding capacity and poor image insensitivity still hinder the development of reversible watermarking algorithms. Therefore, this paper researches and analyzes the insufficiency of reversible watermarking technology. The main content of the full text includes:In the beginning, the severe challenges faced by multimedia information security are introduced. The basic theory of digital watermarking and the research and development of reversible watermarking are systematically expounded. Then, mainly for the problems of poor visual quality and small embedding capacity of the traditional difference expansion reversible watermarking algorithm,a generalized difference expansion reversible watermarking algorithm based on block and bit Plane decomposition is proposed. The content of the algorithm mainly decomposes the bit Plane of the carrier image, and selects low bit Planes with small pixel differences to form a new carrier image. Then, the new carrier image is divided into blocks, and the smoothness values of the pixel blocks are sorted.Based on the generalized difference expansion reversible watermark algorithm, the image block with higher smoothness value is selected to embed the watermark. At the same time, the difference quantization method is used to select image blocks with lower smoothness values to embed overflowing maps and other related auxiliary information. The experiment of reversible watermarking algorithm was carried out using standard 8 bit grayscale images such as Lena and Baboon as test images. The experimental results show that through the methods of bit Plane decomposition and blocking, the objective distortion of the carrier image due to embedded watermarking is reduced, and the carrier image's distortion-free recovery is also achieved, and while ensuring a higher visual quality,it improves Embedded capacity.
