With the continuous development of computer and information technology,the operation mode of searching character,image and other data information through visual display terminal(VDT)has penetrated into human daily life,and has been widely used in military,medical,industrial,educational,transportation and other major fields.In recent years,there have been many studies on the effects of search strategy and interface layout on VDT search performanee,but there are still some contradietions and shortcomings in the relevant conclusions and views,The main manifestations are as follows:(1)Many scholars use single-index measurement to study VDT search performance,focusing on search time,which is relatively weak for the measurement and analysis of search accuracy;(2)Most of the "Attention Return Inhibition Theory" and "Peripheral Multiple Attention Theory" proposed by existing research institutes are based on eye movement data analysis,without considering the two important objective performance indicators of search speed and accuracy.At the same time,there is a lack of analysis of the subjective perception data of the subjects in the search process;(3)Most of the existing studies analyze the relationship between search strategy or interface layout and search performance separately,and no one combines these two factors to explore their interaction;(4)The existing literature pays little attention to the "persistence"characteristics of VDT search tasks,especially the lack of learning effectiveness in the search process.The discussion of the mechanism should be affected.Based on the above background and current situation,this paper combines the basic principles of "Attention Return Inhibition Theory,and "Peripheral Multiple Attention Theory",and designs a simulation experiment under the premise of fully considering the labor characteristics of VDT search operation.At the same time,based on signal detection theory,we refine the "search accuracy" index,and combine "search time" to construct an objective performance index system.Through variance analysis,we explore the relationship between target stimulus type,time duration,search strategy,interface layout and search performance.In addition,the Pythagorean fuzzy evaluation method based on TODIM was used to analyze the recognition degree of each area of the search interface,and the subjective ranking of the target area was obtained.Finally,some effective suggestions are put forward to optimize the VDT continuous search Operator-Machine-Environment system in order to improve the labor comfort and the safety and reliability of the whole system.The main conclusions of this paper are as follows:(1)The "persistence" feature of VDT search job has obvious learning effect in the process of search,and there are phenomena between SATO and SAON,which are manifested in the following two strategies:the "system search" strategy and the "semi-system search" strategy,when the subjects search for graphic and character targets,their search time gradually decreases with the continuous operation.?(2)When the subjects search for graphic objects,the search speed increases with the continuous operation,which is more obvious than the search for character objects,and the false alarm rate is more stable.When searching for character targets,the participants are more affected by the "interface layout" factor than the graphic search situation,and their error rate and false alarm rate are also at a lower level.(3)The search strategies used by the subjects had no effect on the four performance indicators in most search scenarios,but the degree of influence by the "interface layout" factor was different.The two strategies of "system search" and"semi-system search" had more obvious influence on the search accuracy than "random search" strategy.(4)Search performance related indicators are affected by "target layout"factors to varying degrees,among which "search time" is "extremely significant" only in most cases,while "error rate",,misstatement rate" and "false alarm rate" are the three indicators reflecting search accuracy,which only use "systematic search" and "semi-systematic search"in character target search scenarios.The two strategies will be affected.(5)The search performance of the whole subjects is generally poor in the right area of the interface,but better in the left area of the interface.At the same time,the results of subjective recognition ranking were in good agreement with the results of objective performance analysis.Generally speaking,the subjects preferred the upper left area of the interface to the lower right area,so the performance of search performance was based on the subjective preference of the subjects.
