With the development of wireless communication, spectrum resources are becoming increasingly scarce. As a new technology, the introduction of Device-to-Device(D2D)to cellular network will improve spectrum efficiency and improve the scarcity of spectrum resources. However, the resource allocation between the different transmissions becomes a new technical challenge. The cell edge user may still suffer the poor link quality in a D2D-enabled cellular network.Hence,in order to support D2 D communications in a cellular network and to improve the connective experience of the cell edge user,Overlay spectrum sharing scheme in D2D-enabled cellular network is studied. The research contents are as follows:(1)Based on the proposed scheme, the cell edge user intends to lease their own licensed spectrum resource to D2 D transmission pairs in exchange of the cooperative transmission assistance provided by the D2 D transmission pairs for improving the Quality of Service of the uplink transmission from the cell edge user to the base station.(2)Compared to Underlay spectrum sharing scheme,Overlay spectrum sharing scheme may reduce spectrum efficiency.Hence,Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access(NOMA)technology is invoked at the D2 D transmitter for improving Overlay spectrum efficiency.(3)In a system model hosting one cell edge user and one pair of D2 D transmission pairs, when a fixed strategy is given by the cell edge user,a power allocation algorithm is proposed for D2 D.When both the strategies of cell edge user and D2 D are formulated,a joint time and power algorithm is proposed.(4)In a system model hosting multiple cell edge users and multiple pairs of D2 D transmission pairs,a two-stage Stackelberg game is selected to model the interaction between the cell edge users and D2 D transmission pairs and backward induction method is used to analyse the optimal strategies. Moreover,in order to generate stable one-to-one matching between cell edge users and D2 D transmission pairs,a matching algorithm is proposed and the stability of the proposed matching algorithm is analyzed. The simulation results show that the proposed Overlay spectrum sharing scheme in D2D-enabled cellular network is capable of providing considerable rate improvements for both cell edge users and D2 D transmission pairs and reducing transmit power dissipated by the D2 D transmitter to forward data for the cell edge user.
