The T/R module is the core of the phased array system.Since the third industrial revolution,phased array systems have been widely used in aerospace,military and mobile communications.The 21 st century is the coming era of the fourth industrial revolution,which puts forward higher requirements for phased array system.Digitization,intelligentization and miniaturization are the future development directions of phased array systems.In response to the development needs of digitization and miniaturization of T/R components,this paper designs a four-channel Ku-band digital T/R module based on high integrated level broadband RF transceiver chip AD9371 and combining I/Q frequency conversion technology and phase-locked loop technology.The digital T/R module consists of four parts: the software radio part(AD9371),the Ku-band RF link,the clock and local oscillator,and the power supply.Two pieces of AD9371 convert the digital signals from JESD204 B interface into L-band RF signals of four channels.The Ku-band RF link realizes the spectrum shift between the L-band signal and the Ku-band RF signal through amplification,I/Q mixing and filtering;Clock and local oscillator can produce high quality clock signal and local oscillator signal,and realize the synchronization between T/R modules;The power supply part converts the 12 V main power supply into the power source needed by each part.This paper first introduces the research background and development of digital T/R module.Then the theoretical basis of digital T/R module is introduced,including the theory of phased array,analog to digital conversion,mixer,phase-locked loop and transmission line.Based on these theories,the overall scheme,circuit schematic design and printed circuit board design of Ku-band digital T/R modules are described in detail.After that,the machining and testing work were carried out,and the test results met the design expectations.At the end of this paper,the design achievements and shortcomings are summarized,and the next steps are proposed.
