With the development of science and technology,people have more and more high requirements on the radiation performance of antenna,which is not only reflected in the military,but also in our daily life.Most of the current multi-beam antennas obtain multiple beams by switching ports,and it is difficult to balance the gain of each beam for the antennas that can produce multiple beams at the same time.A good solution is the method of maximum power transmission efficiency,which has been applied to the design of many other antennas.In this paper,the method of maximum power transmission efficiency is introduced into the design of multi-beam scanning antenna,and this method is introduced into the research of multi-port antenna.The main work includes:1.Firstly,a microstrip antenna array for multi-beam scanning application is designed,which is composed of eight microstrip patch antenna elements with an interval of about half of the wavelength.High frequency simulation software HFSS is used to determine the structural parameters of the antenna.After the structural parameters are determined,an energy transmission system is established.Multiple receiving antennas are placed in the direction where the beam needs to be generated in the far field,the optimal excitation distribution of the transmitting array is calculated by the method of maximum power transmission efficiency,and finally the excitation distribution of the entire antenna is controlled by the RF circuit.The results of simulation and measurement show that this antenna can generate up to four beams.The antenna can scan at ± 30 ° in dual beam mode,and the power of each beam is always balanced.2.A four-port antenna element is designed by introducing the method of maximum power transmission efficiency into the multi-port antenna.It is also the first to build an energy transmission system,microstrip antennas with different polarizations are placed in the far field.Based on the the method of maximum power transmission efficiency,the excitation distribution of the transmission array is calculated when the transmission power efficiency is maximum.At this time,the polarization of the transmitting antenna corresponds to the polarization of the receiving antenna.Finally,six kinds of antennas with different polarization modes(0° linear polarization,90° linear polarization,45° linear polarization,-45° linear polarization,left-circular polarization and right-circular polarization)are designed.
