Research On The Relationship Between Founder Personality Types And Entrepreneurial Learning Styles:The Mediating Role Of Entrepreneurial Networks

Entrepreneurial network and entrepreneurial learning have certain significances to the survival and development of enterprises,especially for start-ups.Because of new weaknesses,if the founders of start-ups could not help enterprises to obtain the resources and capabilities by entrepreneurial network and entrepreneurial learning,survival will be very difficult to them.This paper uses the theory of personality,entrepreneurial network theory,entrepreneurial learning theory and so on.And the paper puts the founders of new enterprises as the research object,using theoretical research and empirical analysis to discuss deeply the influence of founder personality types on entrepreneurial learning styles to provide theoretical support and guidance to management practice.This paper conducts a survey to collect data by inviting the founders of start-ups and ordinary employees who are familiar with the founder and the enterprise to fill out the questionnaires,and finally obtains 185 valid questionnaires,and then conducts data analysis.The results of analyses show that:ESTJ and ENTP are the typical personality types of MBTI index for the founders of start-ups;ESTJ personality type of founders are more likely to form an informal network;ENTP personality type of founders are more likely to form a formal network;ESTJ personality type of founders are more likely to conduct exploitative learning;ENTP personality type of founders are more likely to conduct explorative learning;Entrepreneurial networks have a significant positive impact on entrepreneurial learning;The founders tend to use exploitative learning under informal networks;The founders tend to use explorative learning under formal networks;Entrepreneurial networks play an intermediary role between founders' personality types and entrepreneurial learning types;Informal networks play an intermediary role between ESTJ personality type of founders and exploitative learning;Formal networks play an intermediary role between ENTP personality type of founders and explorative learning.The conclusions above reveal the mechanism of the personality types of the founders,entrepreneurial networks and entrepreneurial learning.And it also shows that founders of different personalities have different tendencies in constructing the entrepreneurial network and undertaking entrepreneurial learning.Therefore,in order to enhance the innovative performance of enterprises better,founders should consciously build more appropriate types of entrepreneurial networks and choose appropriate learning methods on the basis of correctly assessing their own personality characteristics to conduct entrepreneurial activities.
